Adventures in Community Gardening

How to be an urban farmer?

This is my question for the year. I’m hoping that you haven’t come to this blog thinking I have the answer to this question. This is about the journey.

So far my quest has given me two great opportunities, one is a container vegetable gardening course me and my husband Josiah are leading, based at St Brides community centre in Dalry. The other is a community herb garden set in Greyfriars Kirkyard.

I also share a very small communal garden at the back of our flat in Gorgie-Dalry. I think that not having a garden of my own makes things a bit more exciting, as it leads me down the path of community gardening, which in my opinion is infinitely more interesting than just digging at my own land.
